Mark 12:33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Simply put, to love your God and to love your neighbor is more important than religion; it's more important than anything. Nashville already had it's fair share of homeless men, women and children. Since the flood, that number has increased significantly.
How many people do you know who live from paycheck to paycheck, and would not be able to recover from sudden disaster without assistance. That's the majority of my friends.
Church, we have to take care of them. If you're in the Nashville area, you can love your neighbor by volunteering to help flood relief victims in some capacity. If you're not, you can love your neighbor by donating money.
Hands on Nashville is a good place to start. Mobile Loaves and Fishes is a very legitimate ministry that feeds Nashville's hungry and is currently inundated with need.
