I haven't been around lately, but it's all good. I haven't posted to this blog recently either. Mainly, because I like to focus on my deeper faith material, but also, because I have been caring for aging parents.
It seems like I've only just settled down from the last big life change, only to face another devastating blow. My mother has been very ill. She is 77 years old and my dad is 80. He is her nurse, cook and house keeper. She has been diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. If you are not familiar with this disease, look it up. It's a bad, bad boy disease!
I can choose to let this add to the pile of bruises from the past, or I can choose to look at that silver lining. The silver always shows up, when you look to God for help.
My silver is in the time I have had recently to spend with my parents. I've learned a great deal about them that I did not know. I have grown closer to Dad and to Mom, and I'll have no regrets when they are gone. They are beautiful people. This little negative situation we have been living in, has brought us closer together! That's a silver lining, don't you think?
It's only with Jesus, that I can find the silver. It's only because I ask for it!
