Spiritual Health
According to the Bible, your spiritual health impacts every aspect of your life; physical health, finances, relationships and family. Amazingly enough, science has begun to unravel this mystery through study of the human brain.
A look into the brain of any given human being can actually reveal the kind of thought life that individual experienced or produced. A person who maintains a positive attitude by forgiving and loving others actually builds a different kind of physical memory inside their brain from that of a person who lives in a guilt and anger based thought life. This physical memory impacts the brain by causing it to produce either healthy balanced chemistry or negative, toxic chemistry. The brain chemistry will eventually impact every cell of the body and if negative, will cause sickness and even death. (See Dr. Caroline Leaf's amazing book "Who Switched Off My Brain.")
Jesus began His ministry here on earth by teaching people to repent, which means continuously change your thinking. And, if you'll read the four Gospels, you will clearly see that when He taught the message of repentance, people were healed. According to the scientific evidence presented by Dr. Leaf, this was no coincidence. The two go hand in hand. Spiritual health and physical health go hand in hand also. When you set out to improve your spiritual health by changing your thinking, you will benefit physically.
How Does God's Word Impact Spiritual Health?
In order to change your thought life, you have to add new information. The more you study the Bible and listen to God speak, the more positive, healthy thoughts you will be able to produce. According to Dr. Leaf, and to James 1:21, God's word will actually become physically engrafted into every cell of your body, producing the results He desires for you.If you will take the time to familiarize yourself with His desires for you, you will not want to forego this opportunity.
Please be aware that this biological process of absorbing information into the brain and engrafting it into every cell of your body applies to whatever information you choose to pack in. In other words, choose wisely. What you feed into your mind is what you will become. Refer to Christian Spiritual Healing for more details on obtaining spiritual health.
